Corporate
History
Edward Wadler founded the company Modern Mail Service Inc. in 1951 to service
mail delivery and messenger needs of East Bay customers. The first customer was
an Oakland based news agency and it remains our customer to this day. Just as
we have retained our customers over the years, we strive to earn all our customers'
loyalty one day at a time. Attention to detail and prompt and effective problem
resolution helps us to earn that loyalty.
The company is
justifiably proud of its employees. In 1999 our longest serving employee retired
after thirty-eight years of service. The company attributes its success to its
employees, many of whom have more than ten years of service with us.
Larry Wadler took
over the business from his father in 1976. Larry recognized the growth in the
same day courier industry and the company expanded the service products to include
Express Same Day Service On Demand, and Express Custom Route Service. The company
changed its operating name (D.B.A.) to reflect these changes to Modern Express
Courier.
Modern Express
Courier serves many of Northern Californias largest and most respected companies.
Through intelligent planning and a strong will to succeed, Modern Express Courier
has emerged as an industry leader. We listen to our customers' needs and provide
an individual approach for each customers situation.
